Hi! I’m Maria — the creator behind House of Thirty-First. By day, I work full-time in the Renewable Energy field and around the clock I’m a wife and mom to two little ones just 27 months apart. I’ve always had a love for all things spooky with a twist of dark humor, but I also have a soft spot for the sweet and whimsical. (The US is my family, the 2 small humans and husband that help out occasionally)

I have always LOVED home fragrances. Candles, car air fresheners, wax melts.. you name it. Always had a never ending stash. However, after I had my first child in 2022 I noticed I was facing a lot of issues with name brand products. Became very sensitive, headaches, the air feeling heavy and nausea. I've tried many different products but always had the same results in the end. After many discussions with my Husband, we axed everything for the safety of not only ourselves but the little human we now had. Our family grew by one more in 2024 which meant the smell would too (we all know kids smell LOL). Which sent me on my journey to find a product that would work for us. 

Now the question of why did I start this small business?

Simple... I found a product that worked for me and I wanted to expand on it. Provide safe, clean and non-toxic home fragrances for your home. Bring awareness to what big box stores have in their products and how they can affect our health.
